The cold weather has changed – for the better! And that means one thing in Green Bay. That planning for the Bellin Run next month is now in full stride. Spend a little time on one of Green Bay’s many trails and you will easily find the trail populated with runners of all shapes and sizes training for next month’s event. This year’s 39th annual 10K event is scheduled for June 13th at 8:00 a.m. with the course beginning at the entrance of Green Bay’s Bellin Hospital. The event has tuned into one of the top five 10K running events in the nation with over 20,000 annual participants. The days leading up to the event have running experts offering training advice and nutritionists offering diet and eating information and the entire medical field gets involved encouraging northeast Wisconsinites to become healthier residents. This year, Smet Construction Services is hosting its 5th year as a corporate challenger. This means the Smet team is up against similar sized businesses in its quest to see whose best in our category. Team members have begun to jog after hours to speed up their times and prepare for the endurance. So, if you haven’t yet made plans to run, start thinking about it, there’s still time to get somewhat in shape and make your run for fun at this year’s Bellin! With a little bit of luck, you might even get yourself looking good for this summer’s upcoming beach parade. Happy running everyone!
